The spectacle of an open fire in a garden or green area on a cold autumn or winter's night cannot be beaten, bringing feelings of warmth, enjoyment, and a certain connection to times gone by for your family and friends. Some go with a firepit but the more usual choice in Ireland is a chiminea.
These are typically situated near to some chairs or under an overhang like a patio, naturally with a bit of space between them and anything that might catch fire. If you have a small outdoor bar they make a marvellous focus for the gathering you hold.
There are many different styles of chiminea, from the antiquated to the Victorian to the more modern styles which have contemporary lines and materials. The style can be picked to suit the overall look and feel of your garden. Some are available with a front mounted grill where food can be cooked, or beverages kept warm.
Often gardens are under utilised during the night, and a chiminea provides an excellent reason to go out and enjoy the fresh night air.
So enjoy your garden!
